Our Doctrine

The following are the core beliefs of Live Church based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

GOD

There is one eternally existing God who has three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is the creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible, and is therefore worthy of all glory and praise. God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom, justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.  He is the eternal judge of every soul.

JESUS

Jesus is the glorified Son of God, and the 2nd member of the trinity. Jesus was not created but has eternally existed. Jesus came to earth as fully man and fully God, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died for the sins of the world, was resurrected bodily, and now reigns forever in glory. Sinners who put their faith in Jesus receive salvation and forgiveness of their sins and are reconciled to God through him.  Jesus is returning to earth in the future to judge the wicked and the death, and to redeem creation to it's originally intended purpose

HOLY SPIRIT

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the trinity. He is referred to as the advocate or helper. The Holy Spirit empowers the Church and Christians to live out a Christian life and accomplish the mission God has for their life to expand the kingdom.  The Holy Spirit is active in a believer's life by providing power to walk out sanctification, holiness, discipleship, amongst other things.

SALVATION

Jesus Christ came to reconcile us with God. He lived a life without sin and willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our transgressions. God raised him from the dead and now, by grace, offers eternal life to all who follow Christ, by faith, as their Lord and Savior. That is why salvation can be found in Christ alone.  Salvation cannot be achieved by works, a prayer, or any other action than faith, which requires one to confess Jesus as Lord and repent of their sin.

BAPTISM

We teach that all those who place their faith in Christ are to be baptized into Christ.  Christ’s baptism includes: full immersion in water, being received into the body of Christ, the reception of the Holy Spirit as a security unto salvation, and an eternal hope of Christ’s bodily return to restore all things and judge the wicked.  Water Baptism is a sacrament of the Church, and should be the first act of obedience for every new believer.  Water baptism is symbolic, but it is also a solemn act of worship, whereby the real spiritual presence of Christ abides in the Body during the act of worship.  It is a physical picture of the spiritual reality of a believer's being saved by Christ through the washing of their sins and a regeneration of their soul.

THE CHURCH

The Church is meant to be the visible body of Christ, sent into the world to glorify God and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  The Church belongs to Jesus Christ and is referred to as the bride of Christ.

BIBLE

We believe the Bible is the inspired and authoritative word of God.  In its entirety it is infallible, represents the truth of God’s character, demonstrates his will, and should be applied not just understood.

MANKIND

Humans, both male and female, were created in God’s image for his glory. The first humans, Adam and Eve, were created without sin and appointed as caretakers of the rest of God’s creations.

THE FALL AND SIN

When Adam and Eve chose not to obey God, they ceased to be what they were made to be and became distorted images of God. This caused them to fall out of fellowship with God and fractured all of creation ever since that time.  This is recognized as sin.  Sin’s introduction into the world brought great calamity, disease, pain, and death.

GRACE

We believe that those who have faith in Christ should turn from sin. The grace of God brings salvation, the Holy Spirit regenerates the heart enabling faith that brings justification from sin. The Holy Spirit leads us in sanctification, the ongoing spiritual growth that identifies us as genuine believers and is completed only at glorification.

JESUS' RETURN

We believe in heaven and hell, the literal second coming of Jesus, his rule upon the earth and the resurrection of believers to eternal life and sinners to eternal punishment, and the ultimate victory of the Kingdom of God.  We do not know when his return will be, but we live everyday as if it’s imminent.

SPIRITUAL GIFTS

We believe spiritual gifts should be in the church with balance and guidance from the church’s spiritual leadership.  They should only be used as dictated and allowed in scripture.  Spiritual gifts are given by Jesus, through the Holy Spirit, to give glory to God on earth.

ETERNAL SECURITY

We teach that it is God who saves, and the work that he started will be finished.  A believer has the responsibility of asking the Lord to examine his heart that true biblical faith has taken root and is bearing fruit.  All genuine faith will display fruit with perseverance over a believer’s life.  Fruit does not save, but it is proof that genuine saving faith exist in the life of a believer.  A true believer is strengthened by God’s grace to remain connected to the vine.  It is only those who “endure until the end” that will be saved.  Endurance is possible only by God’s grace, dispensed to those that God elects through his foreknowledge.

MARRIAGE

We teach that God created male and female, two unique genders for the purpose of procreation and community.  Both of these genders, male and female can unify in a holy covenant before God identified as marriage.  One male and one female will be joined by this covenant before God, with God at the head of this covenant.  The marriage relationship is to resemble Christ’s relationship with the church.  The husband is to lead through servanthood his wife and children by providing spiritual and practical guidance.  A husband worthy of a wife will love her sacrificially as Christ gave himself for the church.  The wife is, equal in value, but carries a different God-ordained role to support the husband’s leadership.  Both roles should complement each other in the discipleship of the home.  A biblical marriage reflects the relationship of Christ and the church.

SEX

We teach that all forms of sexual interaction outside of a male/female marriage covenant is forbidden by God and considered sin.  Sexual sin carries a significant weight and there are many forms of it considered an abomination by the Scriptures.  God forbids sexual activity between members of the same gender, between individuals that are not married, between creatures that are not of the same species, and he forbids polygamy and pornography.

GENDER

We teach that God created two genders at creation.  Male and female.  Male and female were created for the purposes of pro-creation and on-going fulfillment of the display of Christ and the church through the marital covenant established before God and man.  God selects a person’s gender according to his will and his decision should never be questioned.  Though at times individuals that are male, may carry more feminine qualities, or females may carry masculine traits, they are created as God designed them at their birth.  An individual that deems it necessary to re-gender themselves, rather by concept or physical alterations is violating the objective will of God and stands in rebellion before a holy God who makes no mistakes.

Schools

We believe in our schools and the staff that invest into our kiddos.  We take care of our teachers, staff, and principals.  We have also helped with renovation projects in the schools.

Police and Fire

We also strive hard to make our police officers and fire dept feel valued, supported, and loved with gifts, treats, and by honoring them every chance we get.

Community Events

We really mean it… we want to be a small part of what is going on in the community.  You will find Live Church people working at most community events in some capacity.  We serve at the fireworks show, parades, basketball/football concessions, and many other events.

Give-A-Way

We add value to people’s lives.  Whether it’s passing out thousands of bottles of water at community events, or other various prizes, we want to bring a smile to people’s lives and brighten their day.

Prayer

The thing we do that matters the most is we engage in prayer for our community on a regular basis.
